A last day victory over Liberty slots Vulcans 13th overall

March 15, 2016

California, PA- With their end goal out of reach the Vulcans ended their 2015-16 season the best way possible moving towards 2016-17, with a 6-4 victory over Liberty University to finish 1-2 in the National Tournament.

This years National Tournament did not go as planned for the Vulcans, who finished the season 18-10-3 and coming in at 13th in the country.  That 13th place finish stands as the Vulcans worst since the 2006-07 season when they finished 15th in the country.   Although the silver lining to that finish was what the Vulcans were able to turn around and do the next season winning the ACHA Division III National Championship.

As the Vulcans prepare for next season they will have many tasks at hand replacing a number of key contributors from this years club.  Toping that list is Captain Mike Warner who lead the team in scoring with 19 goals and 29 assists for 48 points.  Along with Warner the Vulcans will lose Brad Mitchell, Brett Young, Zach Alaimo, Jake Blair and Tyler Kutek.  With the Vulcans looking to fill the voids left by those players they will also begin to search for their fourth coach in club history as Justin Berger is not set to return for another season.
