The Vulcans are currently accepting applications for a Head Coach position for their Women’s Ice Hockey Team.  The women’s team competes currently in the American Collegiate Hockey Association as a Division II Team as well as College Hockey East (Women's League) covering Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and New York.  The Vulcans currently play out of the Rostraver Ice Garden in Rostraver, PA.  The Ice Hockey Club currently consists of two men’s teams and one women’s team, this job opening is for the women’s team at California University of Pennsylvania.  

Responsibilities include planning and implementing all on ice activities related to the operation of a club hockey team.  These include but not limited to, practice planning, practices / games, off-ice team meetings, recruitment, and some travel required. 

Expectations for this position include a strong work ethic, knowledge of the sport of ice hockey (playing experience preferred), excellent communication skills to players, staff, and school administration, time management skills, and professional interaction with the team.

Details:

1.  The candidate hired will be considered a sub-contractor of the Student Association Inc./Ice Hockey Club.
2. The candidate hired will be required to sign a contract with the Student Association Inc./Ice Hockey Club and complete all required tax forms.  The contract runs July 1st – June 30th every year unless otherwise noted.
3. This is a stipend position which the candidate, once hired will negotiate with the Ice Hockey Club General Manager and Board of Directors a set amount per year.
4. All candidates should know this position will require the candidate hired to be a Level 4 USA Hockey Coach by the 2017-2018 season as per ACHA league rules
5. The candidate hired will undergo a criminal background check as per ACHA league rules.
6. This position does not include healthcare or retirement benefits.
