Early starts for the Vulcans over the weekend failed to result in victories as the women’s team fell to Pitt 6-2 and 5-1.  The weekend losses moved the Vulcans to 2-3 in conference play.

On Saturday the Vulcans were able to post an early 2-0 lead with goals from Jayda Mears and Amy Feight.  Unfortunately Pitt would then record six straight goals on their way to the 6-2 victory.  Sundays contest again saw the Vulcans take the initial lead with Morgan Gloeckl scoring first only to have Pitt score the next five goals on their way to the 5-1 victory.  On the weekend Pitt outshot the Vulcans 82-32 while Tamara Bobogie recorded 71 saves.

The Vulcans must quickly put this weekend behind them as they travel north to face the University at Buffalo on Saturday and Sunday which will be pivotal matchups.  A pair of victories will work the Vulcans right back into the mix in the CHE West standings.
