Cal 1 And IUP Square Off Saturday

THE GAME:  #5 California University of Pennsylvania Vulcans (8-0-1, 4-0-1) vs. Indiana University of Pennsylvania Crimson Hawks (2-11, 1-6)

DATE/LOCATION/TIME:  November 11, 2017 ~ Rostraver Ice Garden ~ 7:00 p.m.

BREAKING AWAY:  After having gone through the entire CHE division without a loss thus far the Vulcans look to start the rematches by picking up a season sweep of the Crimson Hawks.  A win by the Vulcan will further them from the rest of the league as they work towards their 10th Kaliena Cup championship.

VULCANS AND CRIMSON HAWKS:  Early this season the two teams met in Indiana, PA and saw the Vulcans cruise through the contest with little trouble.  In that game the Vulcans had numerous players record multiple points with Captain Tyler Gettel leading the way with one goal and three assists.  He was joined by Mike Fahringer with two goals and one assist, Alex Smith with one goal and two assists and Jordan Lockhart with two goals.

VULCANS LEADING SCORERS:  The Vulcans are led offensively by Perry Shiring with 13 goals and six assists for 10 points, Tyler Gettel with five goals and 12 assists for 17 points and Alex Smith with nine goals and eight assists for 17 points.  In net the Vulcans are led by Ryan Lloyd who is 7-0-1 with a 2.30 GAA and a .903 save percentage.

CRIMSON HAWKS LEADING SCORERES:  The Crimson Hawks are led offensively by Thomas Armstrong with six goals and 10 assists for 16 points, David Byrne with six goals and five assists for 11 points and Patrick Cavanaugh with four goals and four assists for eight points.  In net the Crimson Hawks are led by Aaron Dobrolsky who is 1-8 with a 4.57 GAA and a .892 save percentage.
