Vulcans Set For First Ever Meeting With Fordham

Vulcans eyeing a return to the National Tournament on heels of 10 year title anniversary.

California, PA- The journey back to the ACHA National Tournament begins tonight for the Vulcans as they face sixth seeded Fordham University at the Ice Works in Ashton, PA with a puck drop set for 7:15 pm.  Should the Vulcans win they will move on to play on Saturday at either 2:45 or 4:15 pm.

Friday

3:00 pm- #3 George Mason University vs. #10 University of Delaware

4:00 pm- #4 Quinnipiac University vs. #9 University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown

6:15 pm- #5 Rowan University vs. #8 Southern Connecticut State University

7:15 pm- #6 Fordham University vs. #7 California University of Pennsylvania

Saturday

2:45 pm- Highest Remaining Seed vs. Lowest Remaining Seed

4:15 pm- 2nd Highest Remaining Seed vs. 2nd Lowest Remaining Seed

Of the teams heading to Regionals the Vulcans have already face Rowan, Southern Connecticut, Pitt-Johnstown and Delaware.  They have defeated both Pitt-Johnstown and Delaware but suffered losses to Rowan and Southern Connecticut. 

The two teams that survive the weekend in Ashton will join the other 16 teams from across the country as they travel to Columbus, OH to compete for the ACHA Division III National Championship beginning on March 13th.

In what is the Vulcans 10 year anniversary of their last National Championship, they will look to add a second to their trophy case starting with their first ever meeting against Fordham.
