Men Set For Big CHE Weekend

THE GAME:  Friday: #16 California University of Pennsylvania Vulcans (10-7 6-2) at #18 Penn State Altoona Lions (7-6, 2-4)

Saturday: #16 California University of Pennsylvania Vulcans (10-7 6-2) vs. #9 Indiana University of Pennsylvania Crimson Hawks (11-3-1,6-1-1)

DATE/LOCATION/TIME:  February 1, 2019 ~ Galactic Ice Arena ~ 5:30 p.m. ~ February 2, 2019 ~ Rostraver Ice Garden ~ 6:45 p.m.

REMATCHES:  This weekend is full of rematches for the Vulcans as they get their second chance at both the Lions and Crimson Hawks.  First they’ll travel to Altoona to face the Lions, who they last face on December 1st securing a 6-1 victory.  Saturday’s contest will provide the Vulcans an option at redemption as well when they face the Crimson Hawks who defeated the Vulcans 8-2 back on November 10th when they two met in Indiana, PA.

MOVING AND SHAKING:  As the season is coming towards a close with just seven regular season games remaining the push is on for the Vulcans to make their way into the top 10 in the Atlantic Region.  They got off to an excellent start last weekend with a 6-2 victory over seventh ranked Rowan University.  Opportunities will be there for the Vulcans as well in their remaining games with five of their seven final opponents all being ranked in the top 20 (#18 PSU-Altoona, #9 IUP, #17 Salisbury, #3 George Mason, #19 UPJ).

VULCANS LEADING SCORERS:  Through 14 reported scores, the Vulcans are led offensively by David DalCortivo with four goals and 12 assist for 16 points, Alex Worgo with nine goals and six assists for 15 points and Chris Siak with nine goals and three assists for 12 points.  In net the Vulcans are led by Tre Lowe who is 4-3 with a 3.71 GAA and a .901 save percentage.

LIONS LEADING SCORERES:  The Lions are led offensively by Maxim Lesnikov with 14 goals and 12 assists for 26 points, Brendan Gertz with five goals and 13 assists for 18 points and Catcher Cuming with nine goals and five assists for 14 points.  In net the Lions are led by Jonah Brous who is 0-7 with a 5.08 GAA and a .864 save percentage.

CRIMSON HAWKS LEADING SCORERES:  The Crimson Hawks are led offensively by Leo Blore with eight goals and 21 assists for 29 points, Matthew Stoll with 15 goals and 12 assists for 27 points and Brian Dee with 11 goals and 14 assists for 25 points.  In net the Crimson Hawks are led by Aaron Dobrolsky who is 11-2 with a 2.69 GAA and a .924 save percentage.
