Jamison is a graduate of California University of PA, and is the current Director of Recreational Services.  Jamison has been overseeing all off-ice operations for the team since the 2002-03 season and has been recognized as the CHE GM of the Year twice (2004 & 2010). Jamison, a native of Erie, PA, played four years for McDowell High School. Jamison is not only a former player (2002-07) for the CHE team, but he also handles most off ice operations for the team  including all scheduling and financial activities. Under Jamison’s tenure as President (2002-06) of the Cal Hockey Club, the club has been revamped and is looking like a strong contender in the CHE for years to come. In Jamison’s final season as a player the CHE named their Student Athlete of the Year Award in his honor. Currently Jamison resides in California with his wife Ashley and son Carter and Lincoln.

Rachel Michaels

Rachel Michaels is a graduate of California University of PA, now Pennwest University. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and has worked at Pennwest California for over 7 years and has worked in Student Affairs throughout during her career. Prior to working at Pennwest, Rachel worked in drug and alcohol addiction treatment facilities and has had extensive post-graduate training to become an advances addictions counselor. Rachel’s current role as Associate Director for Wellness at Pennwest includes being the case manager for the university counseling center, overseeing Pennwest drug and alcohol and health education programs, and serving on the Behavior Intervention Team.

This season marks Phil's 13th with the hockey club and 12th as the Assistant General Manger.  While at Cal U, he has also served as a Facility and Event Management Intern for the Athletic Department, the Sports Clubs Graduate Assistant and Coordinator of Informal Recreation and Wellness.  In October of 2011 he was honored with the Bill Swan Award For Dedication by the Pennsylvania Intramural and Recreational Sports Association for his contributions during the 2010-11 season. 


David Hague

This season marks David's third as the Director of Media; however, he has worked with the club for nearly 15 years. Besides coordinating the club's social media aspects, David is also the team's official photographer. When not capturing photos for the Vulcans, David can be found on the field all across Western Pennsylvania; just look for his Vulcans hockey hat.

Larry, a native of Elizabeth, PA, returns to Cal for his 11th season as the Scouting/Recruitment Coordinator.  Over the past 11 years Larry has spent time coaching in both the PIHL and local amateur organizations.  Most recently, Mr. Briggs spent the past five seasons as the head coach of Elizabeth Forward High School.  Larry also served as an assistant coach with the Pittsburgh 18U AA Predators the past two seasons.  Larry began his coaching career with Serra Catholic of the PIHL and Mon Valley of the PAHL.  He spent a total of 9 years with Mon Valley as both an Assistant and Head Coach eventually progressing to the 18U AA level.  Feel free to contact him with any questions regarding scouting/recruitment (412) 310-5935.


Vinnie Zachetti

Vinnie has been associated with the Cal U Hockey program since 2007.  He started out as a member of the Cal 2 team playing four seasons including one as the team captain. Following his playing career, Vinnie served as the Sports Clubs Graduate Assistant from 2011-12 and then assumed his current role assisting with all home games and recruiting.  Currently, Vinnie resides in Sutersville, PA.

Coach Berger, a native of Jefferson Hills, PA returns to California University of PA for his 18th season with the team and his sixth as a Team Advisor after spending the past 11 seasons as the Cal 1 head coach. Coach Berger has an extensive hockey background as both a player and coach. He has competed both at the Junior Level as well as in the ACHA Division I. Coach Berger also served as the Head Coach for clubs such as; Chartiers Valley Junior Varsity, Eastern Amateurs Midgets, and Mt. Lebanon Hornets Midget hockey programs before joining Cal U of PA’s staff in 2004. Justin is a three time CHE Coach of the Year (2007, 2010, 2011), seven time ACHA Atlantic Region Coach of the Year (2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015), eight time CHE Champion and led the Vulcans to their first National Championship in 2008.  Most recently Coach Berger was selected as the ACHA DIII National Coach of the year for 2010/11 season.  He looks forward to leading the California hockey program back to the ACHA DIII National Tournament and CHE Playoffs.

My name is Barry Bilitski and I would like to welcome you to California University of Pennsylvania. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns that you may have. I will be glad to provide you with any information that will help you to achieve your educational goals.

My career in admissions began in 1994 when I joined the admissions staff at Waynesburg College. I spent 12 years at Waynesburg before coming to Cal U in March 2007 as an assistant director of admissions. I look forward to working with you and hope to see you on campus soon!

My territory includes Adams, Bucks, Chester, Cumberland, Delaware, Juniata, Lancaster, Montgomery, Perry and York counties in Pennsylvania, as well as southern New Jersey.


Dr. Matthew Stay
​Team Physician


Dr. Matthew Stay is a Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) based in Brownsville, PA, serving the tri-county region through National Pike Chiropractic. He leads the clinic—founded in 1987 by Dr. Lee Goozdich—continuing its mission of providing drug- and surgery-free treatments focused on pain relief, injury recovery, and performance enhancement.

At his 5,500 sq. ft. facility on Route 40, Dr. Stay combines traditional chiropractic care with advanced rehabilitation methods, including Shockwave therapy, to deliver long-term results. His approach emphasizes movement mechanics and functional performance, helping athletes prevent injuries, manage pain, and perform at their best without medication or surgery.

A Fredericktown native, Dr. Stay played football at Washington & Jefferson College before earning his Doctor of Chiropractic from Palmer College in 2013. During his training, he interned with the Sports & Rehabilitation Department, gaining experience working with athletes at all levels.

He lives in Fredericktown with his wife Amy, daughter Bryce, their golden retrievers Ari and Ana, and is excited to welcome identical twin girls. In his free time, Dr. Stay enjoys family time, outdoor recreation, and learning the latest techniques to better serve his patients.
